Scenic Britain by Bus is published annually and distributed throughout the UK. It provides information in a well laid out and easy to understand format about the main bus services within Britain, from Cornwall to North East Scotland; from Kent to Pembrokeshire, and it gives a general overview of what there is to see and do in each area.
The publication makes it easy for people in other parts of the country to obtain further information about the bus services and attractions in your area. This is done by the reader completing a FREEPOST Response Form (from the booklet or online) which is forwarded to ourselves. We then distribute labels with the names and addresses of enquirers to each participating organisation, on a regular basis, for them to send out further information.
Scenic Britain by Bus is available free of charge to the public. Each participating organisation takes a quantity of booklets for onward distribution within its area and this is supplemented by the publisher who distributes to areas not included in the guide and many other key information outlets. Additionally, we distribute to a mailing list and respond to postal and online requests for the booklet. We also maintain a web site that generates enquiries through the same system.
Scenic Britain by Bus is the ideal medium for Local Authorities, Bus Operators, Tourism Organisations, National Parks and AONBs. So, whether you're a public transport co-ordinator, a bus service operator or a professional responsible for promoting sustainable tourism, we think your organisation will benefit from being included in a future edition.
Important information
We are sorry but we have not been able to publish a new 2012/2013 edition of Scenic Britain by Bus.
As you will probably know – the participating organisations pay to be included in the publication. This provides the necessary funding to cover the costs for design, print and distribution. Unfortunately many of the organisations were unable to offer any financial contribution this year. (There were a few notable exceptions, but not enough to enable the booklets to be published.)
We will try to publish a new edition again in 2013. Obviously at this stage – we don’t know if this will be possible. In addition – we will try to develop and build on our online presence - if we are able to find additional funding for this too!
