Research for new 'Places
to Go' publications
Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive asked SHMS
to help them produce a series of new leaflets designed to promote
the use of public transport for leisure purposes. SHMS undertook
the research and copywriting for the 15 publications.
 
 
The leaflets produced are as follows...
- Ashton-under-Lyne. Exploring local attractions
- Central Manchester. Mills & canals, science &
industry
- Dunham Massey, canal paths, parkland and hall
- Exploring Bolton and local attractions
- Exploring Bury and the East Lancashire Railway
- Exploring Macclesfield and glorious Gawsworth
- Exploring Rochdale, Healy Dell and local attractions
- Exploring Salford Quays and attractions
- Exploring Stockport and local attractions
- Exploring Wigan & Haigh Country Park
- Hollingworth Lake and the South Pennine Foothills
- Lower Goyt Valley. Stockport's hidden countryside
- Rivington Pike and the West Pennine Moors
- The Hope Valley and Win Hill in the Peak District
- Upper Tame Valley and the Saddleworth Villages
SHMS also researched and provided copy and data for another
new publication. This was a booklet in the same 'Places to Go'
series - about all the markets of Greater Manchester and how
to get there by public transport - 'Greater Manchester's Marvellous
Markets'.
Some photography was also provided.by SHMS. GMPTE designed
