Eden District Council
'The Flavours of Eden'

Eden Brochure

Simon Holt Marketing Services was commissioned by Eden District Council to help develop an exciting new food and drink initiative to give more prominence to the abundance of quality local produce and excellent eating establishments in this picturesque part of the Lake District and North Pennines. The council aims to attract food lovers to the region.

The fine food and drink promotion started with the launch of a new brochure entitled "The Flavours of Eden" which highlights a sample of the numerous food outlets supplying Cumbrian delicacies. These range from award winning Cumberland sausage and fine smoked fish to delicious cheeses, organic breads and mouth watering home made chocolates. The brochure also details some of the numerous cafes and restaurants that make a special effort to incorporate local produce in imaginative ways into their menus. (The brochure was designed and produced by Simon Holt Marketing Services.)

Cllr Malcolm Smith, Chairman of the Community and Economy Committee said, "The Eden Valley/Cumbrian Lakes has an outstanding reputation for high quality produce. We believe that the Fine Food and Drink initiative will not only encourage new visitors to the area who will embrace the local hospitality, but promote the excellent eating opportunities to the local residents."

An area of outstanding beauty, the Cumbrian Lakes takes in the towns of Penrith, Appleby in Westmorland, Kirkby Stephen and Alston.
