Simon Holt Marketing Services were commissioned to produce a series of leaflets highlighting the varied human heritage in which the county of Powys is so rich.
The subjects were a battlefield ("The Battle of Pilleth", one of the most significant conflicts of the medieval age, confirming Owain Glyndwr as Prince of Wales), a medieval fortress ("Builth Castle", once one of Edward I's great stone castles, now a grassy, enigmatic ruin) and a renowned Victorian diarist ("Robert Francis Kilvert", curate of Clyro and recorder of a vanished rural world and way of life).
All these publications are bi-lingual 12pp third A4 (A3 folded to third A4) full colour leaflets.
These publications can be obtained by contacting: Countryside Services, Powys County Council, Fiveways, Llandrindod Wells, Powys LD1 5ES. Tel: 01597 827500.

SHMS also researched, designed and produced two more publications in the same 'Heritage in Powys' series, one is titled the 'Chartist Outbreak in Llanidloes' and the other 'Newtown's Woollen Industry'. Both these were produced for Eva Bredsdorff - Museums Curator at the Powysland Museum in Welshpool, Powys.
